3R Triple Resilience Project Successfully Completed — June 2026

Mulched agroforestry beds established by the 3R project in Cheringoma

In June 2026 we closed the Triple Resilience Project (3R) — the programme that shaped Fundação LevasFlor’s first years and proved that livelihoods, education and forest protection work best when they work together.

Funded by the Embassy of Sweden, 3R set out in 2023 to strengthen the social, economic and climate resilience of communities in Cheringoma and Muanza districts, in the Beira Corridor. Three years on, the results are visible in the fields, nurseries and villages where the project worked.

What 3R achieved

  • More than 250 lead farmers trained in agroforestry — half of them women — with demonstration plots improving soil fertility and crop diversity across the project area.
  • 8 community tree nurseries established, with a combined capacity of up to 40,000 native seedlings per year.
  • First formal jobs for women — including women hired with signed employment contracts for the first time in their lives.
  • Training for former DDR beneficiaries in reforestation and biochar production, supporting reintegration through practical skills and income.
  • Thousands of people reached with awareness campaigns on sustainable farming, climate change and fire control.

What comes next

The end of 3R is not the end of the work. The farmer groups, nurseries and community structures it built now carry forward under our active programmes — including the Corredor de Resiliência (CdR), which deepens the same approach along the corridor between Muanza and Cheringoma.

Our thanks go to the Embassy of Sweden for backing this programme from the start, and above all to the communities of Cheringoma and Muanza, whose work made these results real.
