Fundação LevasFlor is a Mozambican implementing partner with two decades of presence in the same landscape, a field team that lives where it works, and the compliance track record that international funding requires. 🌳 20 years in the landscape
FLF grew out of LevasFlor Lda., an FSC-certified forestry company operating in Sofala Province since before we existed as a foundation. We are not visitors to this landscape — our relationships with communities, local authorities and traditional leaders were built over decades, not grant cycles.
🤝 A field team that stays
16 staff based in Beira and in the districts themselves — project managers, field technicians and community development officers, almost all Mozambican, many from the communities we serve. No fly-in consultants: the same people who plan a programme are the ones who show up in the village.
📋 Ready for compliance
Registered Mozambican foundation, SAM.gov-registered (UEI & NCAGE) for US government funding, an internal financial manual, competitive procurement, and a track record of managing funds from USAID, AICS (Italy), the Embassy of Sweden, UNDP and GIZ. See the details on our Transparency page.
What we bring to a consortium
- Field delivery across Muanza, Cheringoma, Inhaminga and Condué — training, distribution, monitoring and community liaison on the ground, not from a distance
- Local legitimacy with traditional authorities (régulos, mfumos) and district government (SDAE), built through years of joint work, not a single project’s introduction letter
- Cross-sector experience spanning agroforestry and sustainable agriculture, girls’ education and life skills, biodiversity conservation, and small-grant community initiatives — we rarely need to explain a new sector from scratch
- Track record as a consortium partner — we currently implement IRIS in Sofala Province as the Mozambican field partner in a consortium led by CELIM with CEFA, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS)
